A contemporary mythology in which popular images, found objects and fragments of wood take on new narratives.

Practice
Born in 1964, Eric Liot has worked at the intersection of painting, sculpture, assemblage and collage since the early 1990s. He draws on an extensive visual repertoire — comics, cinema, advertising, heroic figures and symbols of consumer culture — which he cuts, rearranges and juxtaposes with freedom.
Wood plays an essential role in his work. Painted, cut, layered or combined with reclaimed materials, it gives form to compositions conceived as open narratives. Beneath their apparent familiarity, his works reveal a playful yet incisive view of the images that shape our collective memory.
